Fiction: Books that grab kids' interest and hold it. For grades 2-5 that usually means adventures and mysteries written for the appropriate age level. Most are illustrated with occasional line-drawings that depict certain key plot issues. These books also require excellent character and plot development. If you want to write kids' books, be sure to read them. Better yet, volunteer in your local elementary school and see what the kids are most interested in; understand the differences between slow readers and the better readers. Do you homework!

The same research strategy applies for books aimed at middle and high school kids. Be sure your language and story is appropriate for school libraries. Visit those libraries and talk with the librarians to better understand the needs and interests of older readers.

Publishing Syndicate wants to publish your book!

And we have a hybrid publishing plan that can work for you!

We call it OPTION 1

As an author, you typically have three choices for getting your book published: (1) find a traditional book publisher that will give you a book deal, (2) self-publish via a POD (print-on-demand) publisher, or 3) navigate your way through the confusing e-book maze of companies.

The problem with the first option is that you often need a nearly impossible-to-get agent just to get through many publishers’ front doors. With POD and e-books, you need a fair amount of technical and graphic layout skills because you’re responsible for providing the complete digital files. Or you can pay hundreds to thousands of dollars for someone else to do it for you. And POD and e-book publishers don’t care if your book is well written and well organized—they make their money from the overpriced and thus uncompetitive “wholesale” books they sell to you.

We’ve experienced all of the above, and have been equally frustrated. For this reason, we have created a “hybrid” publishing opportunity we know is better!
